MONITOR 2020 HURRICANE SEASON & COVID-19

Please continue to monitor information supplied by the Government Met Office and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) as we continue to be vigilant regarding the hurricane season and the COVID-19 Pandemic.

CONGRATULATIONS AND CELEBRATIONS

We extend birthday and anniversary wishes to all who are celebrating this week. We remind and encourage you to offer thanks to Almighty God for his goodness and mercy throughout the years of your life.

LEEWARD ISLANDS DISTRICT TREASURER POSITION ADVERTISED

Applications for the position of the Leeward Islands District Treasurer are invited from suitably qualified members. The District Treasurer is the Chief Financial Officer of the Leeward Islands District and is an ex-officio member of the District Standing Committees. The deadline for submissions is Monday, 16 November, 2020. For further details, please contact the Superintendent Minister, Rev. Mark Christmas at 465-2346 or 662-6556. CIRCUIT ORGAN CELEBRATION

The Methodist Churches of the St. Kitts Circuit present An ORGAN CELEBRATION – THE BEST OF THE HARVEST at the Wesley Methodist Church on 22 November, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Tickets will be available shortly at a contribution of $25. COVID-19 protocols will be observed.

2020 YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS WEEK

The 2020 Youth and Young Adults Week will be celebrated this year under the theme: Persevering in faith: Running the race amidst the crisis.

Saturday 7 November – Hike at Wingfield Rain forest in Old Road. All are asked to assemble at the grass parking lot, just above the Railway Bar and Restaurant at 5:30 a.m. Congregations are asked to organize transportation for participants.

Tuesday 10 November-Virtual Educational Session. Topic: “Youth Coping with Crisis” 7.00 p.m. via Zoom. Speaker is Mrs. Karimu-Byron-Caines, Director, National Council on Drug Abuse Prevention Secretariat.

Wednesday 11 November- Community Outreach. Youth and Young Adults are encouraged to undertake activities in their respective communities.

Friday 13 November- Movie Night at Caribbean Cinemas. Cost is $30 EC

Sunday 15 November- MCCA Youth and Young Adults Lord’s Day. (Youth and Young Adults will lead All aspects of the morning’s worship)

The annual Youth Rally will be held at 4.00 p.m. at the Wesley Methodist Church. Masks must be worn, and all other COVID-19 protocols will be observed. A love offering will be taken that will go towards youth and young adults work in the Circuit.

CONDOLENCES, THANKSGIVING AND MEMORIAL SERVICES

The Thanksgiving Service for the life of the late Sis. Daisy Williams of Wesley was held on Saturday, 31 October, 2020.

Condolences are also extended to the family of the late Bro. Lionel Berridge of Wesley, including his wife, Venetta, and children Nigel, Lionelito and Lionette. The Thanksgiving Service for Bro. Lionel will be held on Tuesday, 3 November, 2020 at the Wesley Methodist Church, Seaton Street starting at 2:30 pm. Viewing and tributes will begin at 2:00 pm.

Zone 1 (Hope, St. Johnston, Wesley) will host its annual Memorial Service for those who departed this life between November 2019 and October 2020 this evening, Sunday, 1 November 2020. The Service will be held at the Wesley Methodist Church, Seaton Street, beginning at 6:30 pm.

We pray that the peace of Christ will dwell with all who are mourning at this time.

CIRCUIT OFFICE

The Circuit Office is open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Tithes and offerings may also be received at the office during these hours. Contributions may also be made on-line, via the redesigned Circuit website, www.skmethodist.org.

HARMONY BOOKSTORE OPENING HOURS

Harmony Christian Bookstore is also open daily, Monday to Saturday, from 9:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visit the store for a wide variety of study materials and other Christian literature.
